A 33-year-old Abilene man was arrested in Abilene Wednesday night and charged with first degree murder.
Dane Cory Deweese was booked into Saline County Jail around 8:30 p.m. and is being held on charges of first-degree murder (intentional and premeditated).
Lt. Scott Siemen told the Reflector-Chronicle that Deweese was arrested by the Salina Police at 6:10 p.m. in the 900 block of N. Walnut in Abilene.
Siemen said the arrest is in connection with the murder of Kristin Tyler, 27. Her body was found dead along I-135 at Stimmel Road in early May. She had been missing since late April.
“The investigation is continuing and there maybe other arrests,” Siemen said.
On May 9, Joel Heil, 27, Salina, was arrested at an Abilene hotel on a probation violation and failure to appear. He is currently in the Salina County Jail on first degree murder (intentional and premeditated) in connection with the case as well as aggravated robbery charges. His bond has been set at $1 million.
