Susie “Sue” Mae Baker, 94 of Abilene, Kansas passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at her home in Abilene. She was born September 19, 1918 in Edna, Kansas the daughter of Lea and Alta Mae (McElroy) Stine. She grew up in Edna where she graduated from Edna High School in 1934.
On March 23, 1937 she was united in marriage to Ralph V. Baker in Edna. He preceded her in death on July 15, 2002. Sue worked as a bookkeeper for Kansas Lumber Company that Ralph owned and operated from 1966 until 1980.
She was a member of the Eastern Star in Junction City, Kansas; and a Past Bethel Guardian of Job’s Daughter’s Bethel 7. Sue is survived by her three grandchildren; Jody Becker of Independence, Missouri, Jon Dickson of Abilene and Jeff Dickson of Shawnee, Kansas. Three Great-Grandchildren;
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ralph, daughter Judy Lee (Baker) Dickson; a brother, Forrest Stine and sister Katherine Russell.
Cremation has taken place. A private family Memorial Service will at a later date. The family of Susie Mae Baker suggests that friends may contribute to the Kansas Masonic Foundation or Hospice of Dickinson County in her memory.
