SALINA – In the game of basketball competing in every quarter is the key to a victory.
Every basketball coach in the country preaches the fundamentals of being consistent in offensive and defensive sets, rebounding and eliminating turnovers.
The Abilene Cowgirls listened to their coach preach this same message Monday night and came away with a first round victory in the Salina Invitational Tournament over Concordia 56 – 50.
“We had some decent inside play tonight,” Cowgirls’ head Coach Janelle Geist said following the game.
“Belle Barbieri played a nice game inside, she is young and she is still learning, but she played well,” she added.
“It’s good to get some consistency of an inside presence and outside shooting in the same game when we needed it,” coach Geist comment
