As part of a several-year project to spruce up downtown streets, a portion of a 2nd Street will be closed on Thursday.
Between Cedar Street and Walnut Street, 2nd Street will be closed for resurfacing.
“We had started about 6 or 7 years ago resurfacing and rebuilding most of the core downtown streets, and this kind of the tail end of that,” Public Works Director Lon Schrader said. “The street had a little wear and tear. It was time for resurfacing.”
Schrader said people who are attempting to access Webb Home Center will need to pull up a little differently than normal. Due to machinery in the area of the center, Schrader said customers should park in front of the city warehouse.
“We’ll put up a sign that says, ‘Webb Home Center parking right here in front of our building’ so people can get as close as they can without getting on the paved areas,” Schrader said.
