MHS Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine performed pre-concussion screenings for Abilene High School football players on Aug. 6 and 7. The baseline testing is done before football season begins to provide data that physicians can use for comparison if the student athlete later suffers a head injury or a concussion.
The physicians from Abilene Family Physicians and Heartland Health Care Clinic donated the proceeds from the mass physical night to Memorial Health Foundation specifically to provide the pre-concussion screenings.
