According to the American Heart Association, 92 percent of sudden cardiac arrest victims die before reaching a hospital. Immediate CPR can double, if not triple, the victimís chance of survival.
Athletic Trainer Justin Clark of MHS Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine conducted a CPR certification course open to the coaching staff and employees of USD 435. Automated external defibrillator (AED) training was also given during the course, educating them on how to resuscitate someone in an unresponsive state.
