BURDICK –– Joyce Leland Carlson, 89, lifelong resident of Burdick/Lincolnville area, died Monday, Aug. 12, 2013, at the Parkside Homes, Hillsboro. He was born on Oct. 14, 1923, southwest of Burdick, the son of Oscar P. and Anna Marie (Anderson) Carlson.
Mr. Carlson was a farmer/stockman all his life in the Burdick and Lincolnville area.
He married Ruth Ann Meierhoff on Aug. 18, 1946; and she survives currently of the Parkside Homes, Hillsboro. He is also survived by three sons: Ronnie, Duane, and Marcus all of the Burdick/Lincolnville area; a daughter Judy Ingalsbe of Valley Center; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and 19 exchange students.
He is preceded in death by his two sisters: Myrtle Peterson and Lulu Woodruff, and his parents.
Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at the Burdick Methodist Church, with Jay J. Beck officiating; burial will follow at the Burdick Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends , from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15 at the Burdick Methodist Church.
