Emily E. Coulson died Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013. at the Sterling House in Abilene.
She was born Nov. 18, 1918, in Longford, the daughter of Walter and Elsie (Gingrich) Emrich. Emily graduated from Chapman High School and received her teaching certificate. She taught for a year. After her marriage to Donald O. Coulson on May 23, 1937 in Manhattan, Emily was a homemaker and worked for Memorial Hospital as a CNA retiring after 20 years. She enjoyed gardening, and genealogy.
Survivors include her son Don and his wife Karen of Hanover, Pa., Larry and his wife Marie Coulson of Abilene; 10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Emily was preceded in death by her loving husband Donald on Sept. 25, 1980, her daughter Carol Weston in 2010; her brother Oren Emrich, her sister Thelma Emrich, and her parents.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013 at the Abilene Cemetery with her grandson Pastor David Coulson officiating.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at the Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home.
