TOPEKA –– On August 11, 2013, Karl Heins Glatt, 59, of Topeka, Kansas passed away at Stormont-Vail Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Karl was born in Abilene, Kansas on November 8, 1953 to Oren and Harriet Heins-Glatt. They survive. He graduated from Abilene High School and Washburn University where he earned a degree in anthropology. Shortly after graduation, Karl began his career at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company where he remained a loyal, hardworking and dedicated employee up to his early retirement following the diagnosis of the Multiple Sclerosis.
Karl married Mary Elaine (Fisher) Mills on May 12, 1990, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She survives. Other survivors include his parents; Oren and Harriet, five daughters, one sister, Abigail (Murl) Garver of Abilene and numerous nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters -in-law.
A visitation for Karl will be from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Topeka where a parish rosary will be recited at 6 p.m., followed by a Knights of Columbus Chalice Ceremony. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 14th at Sacred Heart Church. Internment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Topeka.
