Geneva C. Williams 75, died Saturday, Aug. 10, in Salina. She was born July 6, 1938 in Trenton, Ga., the daughter of Charles W. and Hassell L. (Harris) Cureton. Growing up in Chattanooga, Tenn., she attended local schools. On April 10, 1954, she was married to Thomas E. Williams in Rossville, Ga. They have made their home in Abilene since 1974. He preceded her in death Feb. 22, 2009. She was also preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.
Survived by: six daughters Sandy Towell , Ft. Riley; Linda Hannigan, Topeka; Cathy Trevino, Port Arthur, Texas; Debbie Butts, St. Louis, Mo.; Susan Burchard, Abilene; Judy Jones, Reno, Nev.; five sons Tom Williams Jr., Abilene; Gary Williams, Wichita; Ken Williams, Shrewsbury, Pa., Bill Williams, Salina; Mark Williams, Topeka; 20 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family has chosen cremation. A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, at the Danner Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow in the Ft. Riley Cemetery.
