Leslie R. Mackey, 57 of Abilene, Kansas passed away Thursday, August 8, 2013 at the Salina Regional Health Center. He was born February 7, 1956, the son of Carl and Vera (Steward) Mackey. Leslie graduated in 1974 from Montezuma High School. He worked for Price Tuck line as a truck driver. Leslie was a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints in Junction City, Kansas. On July 1, 1994 he was united in marriage to Carol (Eilrich) Mackey. Leslie is survived by his loving wife Carol Mackey; parents, Carl and Vera Mackey. Three daughters, Shilo Heger and husband Martin of Manhattan, Kansas, Simaron Blattner and husband Jason of Abilene, Megan James and husband Mike of St. Cloud, Wisconsin. Nine Grandchildren; One brother, Larry Mackey and wife Glenda of Dodge City, Kansas and one sister, Karen Dastrup and husband Boyd of Lawton, Oklahoma. He is preceded in death by a brother, Lynn Mackey.
Funeral Services for Leslie will be 2:00 P.M., Monday, August 12, 2013 at Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home in Abilene. Burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery in Detroit, Kansas. Visitation will be Sunday, August 11 at Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 3-6 P.M.
