OVERLAND PARK –– Dorothy L. Sewart, 98, of Overland Park, died Thursday, July 25, 2013, at the Kansas City Hospice House. She was born May 15, 1915, at Volland, Kan., the daughter of Frank and Myrtle (Cromer) Munzer.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013, at the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home-Herington Chapel. Burial will follow at the Fix Family Cemetery, Volland.
She was a homemaker; and she also worked for Farm Bureau, Farmers’ Insurance Group, and the I.R.S. in the Kansas City Area. She lived in Overland Park since 1956, when they moved from Manhattan. She graduated from Herington High School with the class of 1933, and then the Johnson County Community College in Kansas City.
She married A.F. “Doc” Sewart on Jan.6, 1942, in Tulsa, Okla.; he preceded in death on March 12, 1993. She is also preceded in death by her brother Don Munzer, and her special friend Don Carpenter.
She is survived by her daughter Diana Gensler of Overland Park, and three grandchildren.
