Great Plains Theatre presents Neil Simon's classic comedy The Odd Couple which started last Friday and runs through Sunday, July 28.
When Felix Unger arrives late to the weekly poker game at Oscar Madison's apartment, the news of his divorce has already been delivered. Depressed and potentially suicidal, it is decided that Felix will stay with Oscar in the apartment, putting their close friendship to the test in the ultimate battle of clean versus sloppy. The friendship is tested further when the pair have a date with the upstairs neighbors, the Pigeon sisters, with hilarious results.
GPT's Interim Artistic Director Doug Nuttelman plays neat-freak Felix, while GPT veteran Jim Hopkins (Cincinnati, Ohio) portrays the slobbish Oscar. Rounding out the cast are Kim Riley (Manhattan), Chris Delay (Abilene), Glenn Davis (Manhattan), and Christian Sommers (Abilene) as poker buddies Speed, Murray, Roy and Vinnie, respectively. Kim McClay (Jefferson City, Mo.) and Katie Barnes (Sullivan, Mo.) play the British and bubbly Pigeon Sisters, Gwendolyn and Cecily.
The Odd Couple is directed by Robert Wighs, a KSU alum and recent Texas State MFA graduate. Pinnacle Bank sponsors the production which closes July 28.
