BELOIT –– The Chapman Fighting Irish boys and girls teams fell to the Beloit Trojans at Beloit on Tuesday evening.
The Irish boys fell behind in the fourth quarter to lose by a score of 42 – 34 making their season record 2 - 5. Leading scorer for the Irish boys was Kyle Anderson with 9 points. Zach Heiman added 8 and Logan Lehmukl scored 7.
The Irish girls were outscored 50 to 35. Lindsey Hartford led the Irish with 16 points. The girls drop to 0 – 7 for the season.
The Irish will host Concordia on Friday.

Solomon wins
two at Wakefield
WAKEFIELD – Jamie Meagher had a double-double with 15 rebounds and 13 points and 4 blocked shots to lead the Solomon Lady Gorillas to a 46 to 27 win over Wakefield Tuesday night. Taylor Rohleder led in scoring with 14 and Brooke Janssen added 13. The Gorillas blanked Wakefield in the second quarter with a strong offensive and defensive performance.
“We were 12 of 15 from the line and only turned the ball over 7 times. It was a good team win for us,” said Coach Pete Meagher.
In the boys’ game, Josh Burdine scored a game high 21 points to lead the Gorilla men’s team to a 63 to 41 win over the Wakefield Bombers. Solomon lead 29 to 16 at the end of the first half and maintained their offensive attack in the second half.

Lions top Elyria
HOPE –– The Hope Lions boys’ varsity defeated Elyria Christian 36 – 31 Tuesday night in Hope. The junior varsity lost to Elyria Christian 40 – 29.
“Both teams struggled shooting the ball. We shot 29 percent from the field. We did play pretty well on the defensive end, but did foul too much. Landon Cook played well coming off the bench with 4 assists,” stated Coach Joe Ross.
The Hope Lady Lions jumped out to a 9 – 0 first quarter lead and cruised to a 30 to 14 victory Tuesday over Elyria Christian in Hope.
“The team played good defense and kept Elyria Christian from getting very many good shots.” said Coach Chris Brown. Raelyn Lorson lead all scorers with 12 points while also chipping in 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 5 steals.

HERINGTON – The Herington Railers got off to a slow start but finished strong in the second half to defeat Mission Valley 53 - 39 Tuesday in Herington.
Herington was lead in scoring by Hunter Makovec with a game high 22 points and Ramsey Stramel with 12.
In the girls’ game,
Cora Jones lead the Lady Railers with 25 points in a 41 to 32 over Mission Valley. The Lady Railers pulled ahead in the second half to preserve the victory.
