Larry C. Miller, 73, passed away Saturday, June 29th, in Abilene. He was born September 20, 1939 in Abilene, the son of Leroy O. and Emma B. (Stammeyer) Miller. Growing up in Abilene, he attended local schools and graduated from Abilene High School with the class of 1958. On September 21, 1969, Larry married Sharon Schneider in Abilene. All their married life has been spent in Abilene. He had owned and operated Millerís Bar and had been employed by BNSF Rail Road, retiring in 2002. He was a member of the Grace United Church of Christ, Eagles Lodge #2934 and the Elks Lodge.
He is survived by his wife Sharon Miller of Abilene; two daughters, Shelly Miller of Abilene and Amy (Alan) Wynn of Kansas City, Mo.; a son Mitch (Karla) Miller of Abilene; a brother Verland (Janie) Miller of Desoto, TX.í three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 3rd, at the Grace United Church of Christ with Reverends Phyllis Garrett and Pansy Beardoin officiating. Interment will follow in the Abilene Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:30 until 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 2nd, at the Danner Funeral Home.
The family suggests memorial contributions in his name be made to the Grace United Church of Christ or the Elsie Brooks Cancer Fund. They may be left at the church the day of the service or left at or sent in care of the Danner Funeral Home, POB 758, Abilene, Kans. 67410.
