Memorial Health System announced this morning that visitation is restricted at Memorial Hospital for patient and visitor protection due to the prevalence of illness in the community.
Memorial Hospital has restricted visitation to immediate family members only. Immediate family members should not visit if they are not feeling well or have had close contact with a person who is ill.
According to Dr. Doug Sheern, infection control officer, this restriction is a necessary protection measure.
“We do not like to limit visitation, but with the prevalence of influenza in our community, it is a prudent step to protect our patients and also visitors,” he said.
Village Manor is also asking visitors to postpone their visit if they are not feeling well or if they have been around someone who is ill.
Greetings can be emailed to Memorial Hospital patients and Village Manor residents by visiting the Memorial Health System website www.caring-foryou.org. Click on ‘send a greeting’ on the right side of the page.
