Completing the goal they had set before the basketball game Friday, the Abilene Cowboys basketball team out score it’s opponent all four quarters of the game and defeated the Marysville Bulldogs, 64-32, in a North Central Kansas League contest.
“Tonight we told them we wanted to win all four quarters,” Abilene basketball Coach Terry Taylor said. “We wanted to establish ourselves early and win the first and second quarters and worry about the second half after.”
Leading for the Cowboys was Andy Wilson with 19 points. Wasburn’s soon to be player came out and started the game with a drive lay up and then a three-pointer to start his roll. Two points behind Wilson was Matthew Barlow who had 17 points.
“We haven’t played in three weeks, so we needed to have some intensity,” Taylor said, “And we did and they continued that intensity through the entire ball game.”
The Cowboys, now 6-1, will travel to Hays Tuesday to play in TMP a non-conference game.
