A 23-year-old Abilene man was arrested Thursday evening, accused of committing an armed robbery.

Abilene Assistant Chief Jason Wilkins said Tristan Howard is facing charges that include aggravated robbery, criminal threat and carrying a shotgun with a less than 18 inch barrel.

The Abilene Police Department responded to a residence in the 1100 block of North Kuney where a victim advised that Howard, a known acquaintance, had been at his residence earlier that day during which time the victim was held at gunpoint and items were removed from the residence by Howard.

Officers took Howard into custody without incident during a traffic stop in the 600 block of North Cedar Street. Multiple search warrants were obtained for a residence and a vehicle during which time a firearm believed to have been used during the incident and property believed to belong to the victim were located.
